Hey, Yeah, it was indeed a bit of a surprise for me as well that the wiring harness was the problem. As for the costs, getting the wiring harness damage sorted out cost me about 110€. Worth every penny to end those sensor issues and overheating, I'll tell you! After that fix, haven't had any more problems, touch wood. And about the coolant thermostat malfunction that you suspected - spot on! When I mentioned the overheating issue to my mechanic, he did find a fault there too.
