Yo, thanks for the heads up! It's funny how these sneaky issues can turn into big problems down the road, isn't it? I vaguely remember something about the radiator shutter wiring harness from back when I first bought the ol' Venga... Your suggestion makes a lot of sense. at Honest Autos, huh? I'll definitely give him a ring, sounds like he knows his Kias. Do you recall how much you had to part with to get your Optimax fixed? And has anything else crept up since the fix? Cheers!
Hey, glad I could help! After visiting the issues with the cooling air flap were sorted out for my Optimax. Have to say, these 'hidden' problems can be a proper pain, right? So about the cost, my wallet was lighter by 270.00 € after the repeat trip to the garage. That covered squaring away the radiator shutter wiring harness that was playing up behind the bumper. It wasn't exactly peanuts, but then again, it's kept the ol' girl running free from problems. Since the fix, it's been pretty smooth sailing—knock on wood! No other nasty surprises to report. Hope it goes just as smoothly for you and the Venga!
Dude, 270.00 €, huh? A bit steep for my taste, but then again like you said, way better than letting the old Venga sputter out on the road. Thanks a ton for the info it's been a big help. Glad to hear your Optimax has been behaving since the fix, gives me hope for my beast! I'll be ringing up at Honest Autos soon. Fingers crossed everything checks out alright. Cheers for the advice and wish me luck. Peace out!
Hey there, I can relate to that. I've got a 2006 Kia Optimax and had a similar problem not too long ago. Turned out to be the radiator shutter wiring harness. Yep, hiding behind the bumper, that was the culprit. Had it inspected at the local garage and they found the harness was defective, signs of wear and tear. It wasn't initially apparent, but once they narrowed it down, it was a straightforward fix. More of a sneaky issue than serious, but could certainly lead to some serious problems down the line if neglected. And finding a good mechanic ain't always a walk in the park, is it? I had a good experience with at Honest Autos though. Dude knows his stuff. Wish you the best of luck! Just get it checked out before any more damage crops up.
