Hey, I really appreciate the pointers. I'm definitely taking my XTrail to a different garage this time, and I'll be sure to have them look into the wiring harness. Seems like a sensible diagnosis based on your experience. Out of the blue, do you recall the dent it made in your wallet to get this fixed? And, has anything else crept up in the time since? Cheers!

Hey! Yeah, getting that pesky cooling air flap system fixed did ding the ol' wallet a bit. Shelled out around, let's see, 270 Euro to patch up that worn-out Radiator shutter wiring harness behind the bumper. Not exactly pocket change, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do to keep your ride purring, right? As for your second question, ever since the mechanic's magic touch, no other issues have cropped up. She's been running smooth as silk! Knock on wood, of course. Hoping your XTrail gets back to its glory days soon!

Cheers for the quick reply! I was expecting a bit of a blow to my wallet, so 270 Euro doesn't seem quite as daunting now. I can't put a price tag on peace of mind while driving, can I? Great to know your Murano is running perfect, truly hoping mine follows the same path post repairs. Thanks heaps for the input and the well wishes. Truly appreciate it! Time to roll up my sleeves and give my XTrail the care she deserves. Keep it wheel!

Hey there. Truly feel your pain, I've got an '11 Nissan Murano myself. I had something like your issue a while back. Turned out the culprit was a worn out radiator shutter wiring harness behind the bumper. The mechanic had to replace that whole assembly, apparently, it was causing inadequate cooling of the radiator, leading to the overheating. Mind you, it wasn't a minor issue, could have really messed up the engine if left untreated. Take it to a good garage (not the previous one obviously) and let them check into your cooling system, especially the wiring harness bit. Trust me, it'll be a big load off your mind, and you'll enjoy some peaceful rides once again. Good luck!
