Hey everyone, I've got a puzzling issue with my 2022 Volvo S60 (gasoline, approx 179k km mileage). She's overheating, coolant's low, and I'm suspecting a problem with the radiator shutter. Last time I took it to my mechanic, it was not the best experience, so before I go back, would like to hear if anyone has faced a similar issue? How'd it go at your mechanic's place? Hey there, sounds quite like an issue I faced with my 2019 Volvo V60. Got the same symptoms, overheating and low coolant. Initially suspected the radiator but it turned out to be a defective Wiring harness to the sensor. The problem was corrosion, causing poor connections, that in turn messed up the sensor's ability to regulate the cooling system. Not exactly a small issue, 'cause when the sensor isn't working, your engine could overheat and things could get nasty. My mechanic initially checked for a radiator problem but after further inspection, spotted the fault in the wiring harness. After replacing the harness and running a test, the cooling system was back to its normal function. Don't rule out radiator shutter issue in your case, but considering my experience, it might be related to the wiring harness too. Worth having your mechanic check it out thoroughly.

Hey, good to hear from you again! Ah, the cost, that’s always the tricky question, right? To repair the corroded, defective wiring harness to the sensor, I coughed up around 155€. It wasn't the cheapest route, but hey, you've got to do what you've got to do to keep the ride smooth. As for the radiator shutter problem, you originally mentioned, that got sorted out too! Post the fix-up at the mechanic's place, the radiator started behaving itself, I haven't spotted any more functional limitations since then. So, to answer your second question, my Volvo's been purring like a kitten since all this was sorted. She's not given me any more grief, touch wood! So good luck with your S60. Hope yours gets back on track too, and remember, it's always worth checking out all possible culprits. You never know where the gremlin might be hiding! Cheers!
