Hey, thanks for your feedback, that sounds a lot like my situation here. Do you remember how much it cost you to change the broken coolant pump? And did you have any problems afterwards that might be related to the repair? I would be delighted if you could give me some more information!

Hi, sure, no problem! So, the repair of the coolant pump worked wonderfully after my visit to the mechanic. It was a problem with the cable on the pump and to the control unit, which was faulty. The repair cost me €220. I haven't had any problems since, so it seems to have been fixed properly. I hope this helps you!

Great, thank you very much for the information! That helps me enormously. The parallel with your experience has really relieved me. I will then take it in for repair. Of course, €220 is a lot of money, but if it saves my Polo's life, it's worth it. Thanks again for your help!

Hey, I actually had a similar problem with my 2005 VW Golf. My check engine light was also on and the car tended to overheat. After checking it at the workshop, they determined that it was actually the coolant pump that was not working properly. Due to the pump failure, the coolant could not circulate and the whole system did not maintain the operating temperature. In my case, however, this was a serious problem because overheating can seriously affect the engine if it is not corrected. So it should definitely be checked by a professional. Hope this helps you.
