Hey, thanks for the helpful information! It looks like I'm not the only one with this problem. Good tip with the quick fix, better safe than sorry as you say! The broken valve is probably not something to be trifled with. I'm glad to hear that everything is running smoothly again. Can you remember how much you paid for the repair? In my experience, the costs can often vary greatly. I would also be interested to know if you have had any other problems since the repair? Thank you in advance!

Hey, yes, I can still remember this repair very well. I paid a total of €155 to fix the problem with the coolant bypass valve cable connection. It's not a lot of money, of course, but it's money well spent when you consider how important it is for the valve to work properly. And to answer your other question: since the mechanic looked at it and professionally repaired the engine coolant bypass valve, there have been no more faults. The car is running like a champ again. So from my side, I can only say that it was really worth it! Hope this helps you!

Hey, that's great news that your car is running like a champ since the repair. Your answer was really helpful, thanks for that! 155 is of course a bit much, but if I get the same result as you and my car runs like new again, it's definitely money well spent. It's just reassuring to know that the problem is solved and I don't have to worry about it anymore. I will follow your advice and take my car to the garage as soon as possible so that the mechanic can have a look at it. Thanks again for the quick and useful advice!

Hello, I can help you with that! I once had the same problem with my 2014 Opel Astra: defective coolant bypass valve cable connection. Unpleasant, I know, but no reason to panic. Unfortunately, it's not such a small fault that you could overlook. The correct repair was necessary. The master mechanic in my workshop found the fault and replaced the broken valve and cable. After that, the car ran like new again. So, if your Combo shows the same symptoms, my recommendation would be to take the car to your mechanic as soon as possible. Better safe than sorry, right? Good luck to you, buddy!
