Thanks for your quick reply and the valuable information. I was really hoping that it wouldn't be so expensive, but oh well. Do you remember how expensive the whole thing was for you? And did you have similar problems afterwards or did everything go smoothly? I'd be delighted to hear an answer.

Hello again! Sure, no problem, I'm happy to share my experience. The repair cost me around €215. This included replacing the wiring harness of the radiator shutter, which had rubbed against the rear bumper. It was a shock at first because I hadn't expected it. But after that everything ran like clockwork, no further problems. And best of all, the controlled air flap hasn't made any more noise since then! So don't be discouraged and hope for the best for your Mercedes. Good luck!

Thank you very much for the information. It's a relief to know that everything went smoothly after the repair. I will take your advice and have it checked at the garage. Although €215 is a bit more expensive than I expected, the peace of mind and comfort it brings is certainly worth it. I hope that after that my controlled air flap will also work without any problems. Thanks again for the help. I'll let you know how it goes for me. See you then!

Hi, sounds similar to a problem I had last year with my 2017 Mercedes GLC. The check engine light came on and I also noticed overheating. The radiator shutter wiring harness was faulty and rubbed open behind the bumper. The damage was not insignificant - an aspect not to be underestimated when we are talking about a component that is so important for cooling the engine. At the workshop, they replaced the wiring harness and adjusted the radiator shutter. What I learned from this is that it's important to address such issues at the first sign to avoid bigger problems. It's no small thing, especially with the mileage our cars get. Hope this helps you a bit!
