Hey, thanks for sharing your experience. I hadn't considered the possibility of a damaged wiring system - crazy to think what those pesky rodents can do to a car! I'll definitely bring this up with my mechanic, thanks for the heads up. Just out of curiosity, do you remember the ballpark figure for getting that wiring issue fixed? Also, has there been any recurring or new issues since the fix?
Hey! No problem at all, happy to help a fellow Hyundai owner. The damage on my wiring harness set me back around 110 Euro. It wasn't something you'd hope for, but it was worth every cent to get my ride running smoothly again. As for your second question, actually, after the fix, all the troubles that were bugging me disappeared. Plus, after another visit to the mechanic recently, we managed to nail down the thermostat malfunction as you suspected with your Palisade. Once that was sorted, my car has been purring like it's fresh outta the showroom. So keep your fingers crossed and hope your fix goes as well as mine did! All the best.
Cheers! Your response has indeed been reassuring. I'm less worked up now knowing your fix wasn't unusually pricey and the fact that your ride's been running smoothly since. I’m going to keep my fingers crossed and hope for a similarly smooth experience with the fix. I'm looking forward to the day my Palisade is back to its prime condition. I'll definitely follow up with your suggestions and check out the wiring along with the thermostat. Thanks again for the advice. All the best to you, too!
Hey there, I totally get your apprehension. Interestingly, I had a somewhat similar instance with my 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe not too long back. Was having problems with the engine light and overall performance as well. As it turned out, the issue wasn't with the thermostat but the wiring harness of my car that had been damaged. Damage was traced down to a rodent. Those little creatures can create havoc in a vehicle if they get a chance. So, I'm just saying, maybe also check the wiring system in your Palisade. You never know. Might not be the same issue but it's worth checking out. The good news is, once the wiring was fixed, my ride was back to being its awesome self. I can imagine it's a bit daunting, but hang in there. Hope this helps you out!
