Overheating and AC Issue in 2010 Peugeot 607: Seeking Advice and Previous Experiences

Air conditioning blows warm air

Overheating

Hey! I've got a bit of a problem with my 2010 Peugeot 607 gasoline. It's logged about 58,791 kilometers and recently, the AC started giving out warm air and it's been overheating too. I'm kinda suspecting an issue with the electric fan/control (had a nasty run with a mechanic last time). Anyone ever had something similar? How was your experience with your mechanic for the same? Appreciate any insights!

Hey, sounds like you're in a similar predicament I found myself in with my 2007 Peugeot 307. My AC was spewing out warmer-than-usual air and I noticed the engine getting hotter than it should. Turned out to be a faulty fan control module. Experience at the garage? Well, it wasn't a walk in the park. The mechanic had to tinker with the wiring to find the problem, then the control module needed replacing. No fun watching your four-wheel baby being taken apart but it's all part of the deal when you discover a faulty part in your car. Though I'm not a mechanic, I'd reckon your 607 is showing classic signs of the same issue. The good news? It wasn't a catastrophic issue but it does need attention ASAP. Ignoring it could lead to bigger, more serious engine problems due to overheating. I'd suggest getting it to the garage. Hope this helps!

Oi, your issue sounds eerily familiar! Made me reminisce about my struggles with my old '08 Peugeot. I remember the AC acting up and my car feeling like a mobile sauna at one point. My mechanic did point it towards an electric fan/control thingy after a thorough inspection. Now, you've piqued my curiosity. Do you recall how much cash you shelled out for fixing this whole scenario? Also, has anything else given you a headache, car-wise, since then? Please spare no details!

Hey there! Yeah, you've got it spot on. Had a bit of a sweaty time in the car before this was sorted. So, as far as the costs go, it came to 480.00 € to get the buggering fan control unit sorted. Not exactly a small sum but totally worth it to not melt in my own car, ya know? After getting that fixed, the car's been running a lot cooler, literal and metaphorical sense. The AC's dishing out cold air like it's supposed to and there's no more overheating. No new problems cropped up post that fix, touch wood. It was a bit of a pain having to go to the mechanic again but in hindsight, it was completely necessary. The last thing you want is a bigger engine problem because of an ignored faulty fan control unit. Dropped the car off at the garage, waited for the mechanic to do his magic, picked it up, paid, and that was that. Here's hoping your car will be sorted with the same procedure.

Oh boy, that does sound like a bit of a rodeo, but a necessary one to avoid turning my car into a rolling oven. Honestly, 480.00 € does sound a touch steep, but hey, if it means I get my cool ride back, I suppose it's total pennies. I appreciate your insights, guys! Going to get my motor checked out this weekend at my mechanic's garage. Keep your fingers crossed it's a straightforward fan control unit issue. And hopefully, after this bit of rough patch I can enjoy a smoother, cooler ride in the future. Thanks for the advice, troopers! Will pop back with an update after the visit. Catch ya later!
