Thanks for the input! My coolant level seems fine and I haven't noticed any leaks. Last service was done about 3 months ago at 52313 KM, and everything was good then. Started noticing the overheating issue just last week. I'll definitely check those cable connections you mentioned, sounds like it could be something similar. Good to know it was a relatively simple fix for you. Might take it to my local Mitsubishi dealer just to be safe though, since it's still fairly new and I'd rather not mess with it too much myself.
Hey again! Yeah, that's definitely a smart move taking it to the dealer since your Outlander is still pretty new. After I replied to you earlier, I actually remembered something else about when my Eclipse Cross had that overheating issue, before the cable connection problem showed up, I'd also had a perfectly normal service just a couple months before, just like you. From my experience, these sensor issues can pop up pretty unsual, even after a recent service. When I took mine in, the techs also did a full diagnostic scan which caught a couple of minor issues I wouldn't have found otherwise. Honestly, it was worth the peace of mind, especially since these newer Mitsubishis have pretty complex cooling systems. The good news is that if it is the same issue I had with the sensor connections, it's usually a quick fix. Just make sure they check all the connections thoroughly, not just the obvious ones. Keep us posted on what they find! I'm curious to know if it turns out to be similar to what I experienced.
Thanks so much for all the detailed info! It's really reassuring to hear about your experience, especially since our situations sound so similar. I've actually already called the dealer and booked it in for tomorrow morning, figured better safe than sorry! They mentioned they'll do a full diagnostic scan too, which sounds like exactly what I need based on what you've shared. I'll definitely update the thread once I know what's going on. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, it's helped me feel a lot less worried about the whole thing. I'll let you know how it goes!
Hey there! I've had some experience working on cars . Actually, I faced a similar issue with my 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross last year. The symptoms were exactly the same as what you're describing. Turned out it was a faulty cable connection to the coolant temp sensor. Got it fixed at my local workshop, they replaced the connection and did a thorough check of the cooling system. Cost me around 95€ and solved the problem completely. Before you head to the workshop though, what's your current coolant level like? And are you noticing any coolant leaks under the car? This info would help narrow things down a bit. Also, which engine variant does your Outlander have?
