Opel Mokka air conditioner problems always empty after the air conditioner has been filled

Air conditioning blows warm air

A/C System Not Engaging

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my Opel Mokka Diesel, built in 2015. The air conditioning does not cool or heat properly, and the A/C system does not start. Instead of cool air, only warm air comes out of the air vents. Could there be a fault with the A/C system? Have you had similar experiences and how did your garage solve the problem? I would appreciate your tips and advice. Thank you very much!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2017 Opel Corsa. The air conditioning suddenly only blew warm air. I then went to the workshop and it turned out that individual valves in the air conditioning system were defective. Didn't have to pay anything as the problem was recognized as a warranty claim. My level of car expertise is reasonable; I know the basics, but for specific problems I prefer to call in the professionals. Can you provide a little more information about your vehicle? For example, the exact mileage and when the problem first occurred? Then I might be able to help you more precisely. Kind regards,

Hey, thanks for the tip! My Opel Mokka now has 217654 km on the clock and the last service was about 3 months ago. I first noticed the problem with the air conditioning about two weeks ago. Kind regards,

Hey, all right, thanks for the additional info! With the mileage and the time of the last service, we could be a bit closer. Since your Mokka already has some kilometers on it, there could be several causes. Based on my experience with my own Opel Mokka, built in 2015, I had a very similar case: only warm air came out of the air conditioning system and the A/C system didn't start. In my case, the problem was the air conditioning compressor. It had simply failed. I had to have the compressor replaced, which of course cost a bit of money. However, the exact diagnosis was made by a mechanic, who also checked the coolant level and the electrical connections. Another possibility could be a leak in the system or a problem with the coolant. With the mileage of your car, this would not be unusual. It's best to have the pressure and level of the coolant checked - this can often clear things up. I would advise you to visit your trusted garage and ask specifically about these points. Perhaps the fault can be rectified quickly and inexpensively. But don't try to fix it yourself, as air conditioning repairs often require special tools and specialist knowledge. Hope this helps you! Kind regards,

Hey, thanks for your advice! That sounds like a good approach. I'll take the tip to heart and make an appointment at my garage to have the air conditioning compressor, coolant level and electrical connections checked. Maybe it really is just a minor fault that can be fixed quickly. It's great that you've shared your experience. At least it gives me a direction to look in. Kind regards,

My opel mokka 16CDTI manufactured in 2015 when I turn on the climate throws cold air but little, on very hot days, when it has been running for a while it cools less and less and it is not possible to manually increase the air flow or cool down the selector to the minimum temperature. I turn off the climate and after a few minutes it cools down again but less and less and less time. Especially I notice it with high temperatures in the street (from 30 °) and asking the interior 22 ° or less (I have not tried asking for higher temperature. Checked charge and no leaks (according to the mechanic who does not know what can happen). Anyway, I am very happy with the mokka, I bought it with 58,000 km in November and the following summer I noticed the failure. Of course, the dealer where I bought it second hand, did not want to know anything about the warranty and I've been like this for three summers. I appreciate your help.

Hello Valentin, I would advise you to visit a workshop that really knows what it is doing. The air conditioning system is a very complex system which may only be repaired by trained specialists. It sounds to me as if something is wrong with the "expansion valve" or the "evaporator". Of course, the compressor could also be damaged.
