Opel Corsa D 1.3 CDTI: Error code P253F and illuminated warning light

Check engine light on

Hello everyone, I drive an Opel Corsa D 1.3 CDTI and have a problem with an illuminated warning light. It is not the check engine light, but the vehicle with the wrench symbol. The fault code is P253F which indicates a problem with the engine oil monitoring system. I have recently had a major service with an oil change but cannot clear the fault. There is also no 'Insp' warning illuminated. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to get the warning light to go out? Many thanks in advance for your help.

Try resetting the oil life monitor system. This can often be done by turning the ignition to the "on" position without starting the engine, then pressing the accelerator pedal three times within 10 seconds. Check your owner's manual for specific instructions for your model. If the light remains on, it might be worth having a mechanic inspect the system to ensure there are no underlying issues. Let us know if this resolves the issue or if you need further assistance.

I have now done this with the accelerator pedal, it went off briefly when starting and on again, but now insp2 and insp4 light up when the vehicle is parked.

Check if the oil level is correct and ensure the oil filter is properly installed. If the issue persists, it might be a sensor malfunction or a software issue. Consider having a mechanic perform a diagnostic scan to pinpoint the problem. Let us know how it goes or if you have more questions.
