Hey, thanks for the quick reply! Your experience sounds pretty much the same as mine. Then it really seems to have something to do with the intake ducts. An internal engine cleaning, good to know. Do you happen to remember how much it cost you? And did you have any problems afterwards or did it all go smoothly?

Hey, I'm glad I could help you with my answer! The internal engine cleaning cost me €425. It's not exactly cheap, but in my opinion it was definitely worth it, especially because the misbehavior of the cruise control has improved since then. So it was worth the money. I haven't had any more problems since my visit to the mechanic, everything is running great. Keep your fingers crossed that it works the same for you!

Thanks for helping me find my way around here. The cost does sound high, but if it fixes the problem and there are no further difficulties afterwards, then it's definitely worth considering. It's good to hear that you've been able to drive without any problems since your visit to the mechanic. Hopefully things will go just as smoothly for me! I will definitely make an appointment with my mechanic and hope to get the issue sorted as soon as possible. Thanks again, you were a great help!

Hello, I had a similar problem with my 2016 Opel Insignia, also gasoline variant. The symptoms were the same - poor starting, loss of power, jerky acceleration, increased fuel consumption. In my case, the intake ducts were heavily contaminated. Basically, dirt had accumulated there over time and was blocking the air supply. This was a serious problem, because without proper cleaning it could have led to permanent engine damage. The workshop then cleaned the inside of the engine to clear the intake ducts. Don't worry, it sounds more drastic than it is. It all worked and the car is now running like clockwork again. Think about whether that could be the problem for you. But first off to the mechanic and have it checked. Hope that helps you!
