Hey, I'm glad if I could help! Yes, I still remember the cost. It cost me €465 to repair the damn basic module. But since then at least the problem with the anti-theft alarm system has been solved, no more false alarms. So it seems that everything is back to normal. So far there have been no further problems. Hope your Captiva goes just as smoothly, man.

Oh, okay, that's quite a lot of money. But if it works again afterwards, then it's probably worth the investment. Thanks for sharing your experience. That definitely helps me. I'll definitely make an appointment with the mechanic now and see what he says. Wish me luck that it doesn't get any more expensive!

Hello, I can tell you that I had similar problems, but with my 2008 Opel Astra. It was actually one of the basic modules that was defective. This thing controls all sorts of things like the alarm system, windshield wipers and so on. When I took the car to the mechanic, he said it was definitely a serious issue. So it shouldn't be ignored because pretty much all the important controls run through this module. My tip would be to check it out, maybe that's the cause in your case too. Good luck, man!
