Oil pressure problems in the engine of an Audi A4 Diesel model 2015

Weird engine noise

Valve adjustment noise

Oil light on

Hi Everyone, I have a small problem with my 2015 Audi A4 Diesel model with almost 200k kilometers that is quite annoying me. Disturbing things have been happening most of the time: The oil light is on, I hear strange noises coming from the engine and the valve. My feeling is that the problem could be related to the engine oil pressure system. Has anyone had similar experiences, especially in relation to garage visits? My last mechanic experience was really awful and I honestly don't want to go through something like that again. Would really appreciate your experiences and advice! Thanks in advance!

I actually had a similar problem with my 2018 Audi A6, it was totally nerve-wracking on my last garage visit, so I really understand your anger! The diagnosis was that something was totally off with the engine, serious stuff. The clacking sound indicates a problem with the crankshaft or the connecting rod bearings - at least that was the case with my A6. The repair was anything but easy, but it worked well.

Hey, thanks for your quick reply. Is your A6 still doing well, or were there any additional problems after the repair? And if I may ask, how deep did you have to dig into your pockets for the repair? Depending on the workshop, it can be quite expensive. Best regards!

Hey, I'm glad my experience might be helpful to you. So, since the repair, my A6 has been running without any problems, no further faults with the engine oil pressure system or anything like that. The issue with the wiring harness on the oil pressure control valve, which was oily, was all resolved at the workshop in question. As for the costs: of course they tore a hole in my pocket. I had to pay just under €250 for the repair. But well, now the car is running smoothly again and I have peace of mind. So from my point of view, it was worth the money. I hope your A4 doesn't cost you your house and yard either! So, good luck and don't let it get you down! Greetings back!

Hi, that sounds like a fair price, considering that the car will run smoothly again afterwards. I'm glad to hear that your A6 has been running smoothly since the repair. Hopefully I will have the same luck! Thanks again for your valuable advice. I will continue to monitor my situation and hopefully find a trustworthy mechanic to fix my A4. See you then and take good care of yourself! Best regards!

Hello, the problem with the oil pressure control valve is also very familiar to me, as I had the same problem with my Passat. At first I also thought that the engine had no more oil pressure, but after the oil pressure was measured manually, only the sensor could actually be the problem. So I quickly replaced the sensor, deleted the fault memory and lo and behold, the light went out.
