Hey, your description reminds me of exactly the same thing that happened to me with my Vectra. Ultimately, it was the same problem that Person2 has already described. It was really annoying, but hasn't been a problem since the repair. Do you still know what it cost financially, Person2? Have you experienced anything similar or different since then?

Moin, as I have already described before, it was no child's play to rectify the engine oil pressure system fault. The plastic parts clogged the oil channels in my Astra, which made it necessary to completely dismantle and clean the system. This ended up costing a hefty €1630, but since then it has been running like clockwork again. Since the repair, similar problems have not occurred again. So I'd say it was money well spent. Stay on the safe side and take it to your trusted mechanic. A little pain in the wallet is better than wrecking the car completely. Good luck with the check-up, hopefully it's nothing serious with your Vectra!

Thanks guys for your helpful replies. I will definitely go to the garage, because I don't want to risk damaging my Vectra any further. The last thing I need right now is a broken down car in the middle of the highway. I hope it runs just as well as yours and I don't have to have the engine completely replaced. To be honest, I'm a bit worried about the cost, but it's probably the safer and less risky choice compared to experimenting on my own car. Thumbs up for your advice, you've really helped me out. I'll keep you posted when I know more. Best regards and thanks again for your quick help!

Hello, I had similar problems to yours with my 2006 Opel Astra. It turned out that the oil ducts were blocked by small plastic parts. The noises you hear could actually indicate this. It was already a serious problem, the mechanics had to completely disassemble and clean the oil system to remove the plastic parts. They then fitted a new oil filter and changed the oil. We normal people don't have the necessary tools and knowledge for this at home, so you have to go to a mechanic for better or worse. As it's internal damage, it wasn't an easy fix, but it was done well and so far I haven't had any more similar problems. Hope that helps you a bit. Just don't fiddle around with it yourself, it's not a hobby project! Good luck and cheer up, you'll get there.
