Hey there, Ah, man! It sounds like you really went through a rough ride with your Sorento. Makes me wonder if Kia's got a bit of an issue here. Quick question though, can you remember about how much did that whole process set you back? And since then, has anything else popped up, or has your ride been pretty smooth sailing? Just trying to get a sense of what I might be in for with my Sportage. Thanks for your help!
Hey! Yeah, the journey with my Sorento was a bit of a roller coaster! So, about the costs – the fixing of the coolant level ended up setting me back around 52€. Not a huge hit, but still an unexpected cost, you know? As for the dreaded engine oil temperature sensor - I got good news! Ever since my mechanic took care of it, it's been smooth cruising, no problem at all. So fingers crossed, your Sportage might just need a similar trick! Since all that hoo-ha, the car's been behaving quite nicely. No more strange lights or suspicious noises, thank god! It's been more like a gentle purr than a snarling beast lately. So, don’t fret too much. Give a decent mechanic a shot, you might just find that's all your Sportage needs too. Good luck with it!
Hey! Relieved to hear that, really! Your experience, while a bit daunting, gives me hope about sorting out my Sportage. Thanks for sharing the cost breakdown, let's hope my wallet doesn't feel too much of a pinch! Fingers crossed I find a mechanic who knows their stuff and get my ride humming rather than growling. Big thanks for sharing your story and offering reassurances. Makes the whole thing feel less like a disaster waiting to happen! I’ll definitely keep you updated on how it pans out. Cheers!
Hey! I had a similar issue with my 2017 Kia Sorento. My "Coolant level too low" light turned on out of the blue. Early symptoms included an elevated engine temperature and the car not performing well overall. Taking my car to the garage, they found out that the coolant system needed a complete flush. This was due to a broken water pump causing leakage and creating an airlock in the system. Also, the thermostat was stuck, causing the engine to overheat. What initially seemed to be just a faulty temp sensor turned out to be quite a bit more complex. Not trying to be a wet blanket, but metal shavings in your oil might hint at some serious engine wear. It was a bit of a deal with my Kia, and turned out requiring more than a one-step solution. Perhaps taking it to a trusted mechanic would shed more light on it. I know you've had a sour experience before; thankfully, my experience at the garage was pretty straight up. So hopefully this is just a one-off thing and won't hit you too badly. Good luck!
