Hey, thanks for the info! Sounds like you had to have some work done on your car. Can you remember the cost they charged you for that wiring harness replacement and valve cleaning? And has anything else come up with your car since then? I'm just a bit uneasy about the whole thing.

Hey, no problem! Well, the story with the wiring harness on the oil pressure control valve was a bit of a shock, I admit it. The whole repair, i.e. replacing the wiring harness and cleaning the valve, cost me €350. Not exactly cheap, but what can you do when the car no longer runs? And regarding your second question: Nope, nothing has come up since then. Since I got the car out of the workshop, the error message about the engine oil pressure control has not popped up again either. I would therefore say that the problem has been reliably rectified. So I can really only advise you to have this checked on your car too. Don't worry too much, it's not the end of the world and your Ford will certainly be as good as new afterwards! Take care!

Hey, thanks for your support and the detailed information. 350 is quite a lot, but it's a must if you want the car to run smoothly again. It's reassuring to hear that nothing has come up again since the repair. I'm going to have it checked on my car too. Hopefully things will run just as smoothly. Wish you continued good driving with your car! Bye and thanks again!

Hi, I understand exactly what you mean. I drive a 2010 Ford Focus and had a similar problem. In my engine, the wiring harness on the oil pressure control valve was oily/defective. This meant that the oil pressure could not be regulated properly, which is probably causing your oil light to come on. So, yes, it was a serious problem because it could have damaged the engine long term if not fixed soon. I was in the garage and they had to replace the wiring harness and clean the valve. It was quite a job, but after that my car was running smoothly again. From my experience, I would advise you to get it looked at as soon as possible. You never know how long the engine can take it if the oil pressure is not properly regulated. Hope this helps you. Good luck with your car!
