Oil lamp and warning lamp light up on Peugeot 508 Diesel - Possible causes and experiences

Hey guys, I have a little problem with my Peugeot 508 Diesel from 2011 (with approx. 166,000 km). While driving, the oil light suddenly came on and then the warning light on the speedometer. I think this might be due to a faulty signal from the oil level sensor, but I'm not sure. I had a bad experience at the mechanic recently, so I decided to ask here first. Have any of you had similar symptoms on your car and what was your experience at the garage? I would appreciate any tips. Thanks a lot!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2014 Peugeot 505 Diesel. The oil warning light came on and it turned out that the cable connection to the oil level sensor was defective. The mechanic replaced the cables and then the light went out. It was definitely not a minor fault, but luckily it wasn't serious damage to the engine. It's important that you get this checked as soon as possible to make sure it's nothing more serious. Hope this helps you!

Sure, I still remember. The repair to fix this cable connection from the oil level sensor cost me €165. Since the mechanic fixed the faulty signal from the oil level sensor, nothing has happened again. So everything is fine! Hope this helps you!
