Nissan Navara ABS Light Issues and Potential Wheel Speed Sensor Malfunction

ABS/DSC system is not working

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Fault stored

ABS warning light

Hey everyone, I've been having some issues with my 06' Nissan Navara running on gasoline. Lately, the ABS light is constantly on and the ABS/DSC system seems to have stopped working. Not to mention, there's a warning light on my speedometer and my vehicle is storing a fault. I'm suspecting it might be related to a malfunctioning wheel speed sensor (ABS sensor) but that's just a hunch. Any similar experiences with this kind of trouble? What fixed the problem for you when you took it to the workshop? Looking for any tips or insights you guys can share. Cheers!

Hey there! I'd say I've got some experience with car issues. My 08' Nissan Rogue had the same ABS issue a while back. Being not much older and quite similar in many ways, I reckon they might share similar pitfalls! In terms of ABS sensor problems, it sounds very similar to what I encountered. I took it to my local mechanic and he diagnosed it as a defective ABS sensor too. I ended up paying around 260 Euro for a new sensor plus labor to get it fixed. Gotta say, it wasn't the cheapest repair but it certainly did the job. Just out of curiosity, have you had your Navara for a while or just got it? If you've got your vehicle's exact mileage and any recent repairs or services done, it'd help in giving a clearer picture. Good luck, hope the infos help you out!

Hey! Nice hearing from you. Indeed, owning an '06 Navara for some time now. It has clocked approxily 147,845 KM. The last service was done a couple of months back. I haven't done a lot apart from the regular oil changes, brake pad replacements, etc. Nothing specific to the ABS system though. So hearing about your experience, I reckon it's about time I stopped ignoring the ABS light and booked an appointment with my mechanic. It sucks it's not cheap, but safety first, right? Thanks for the advice!

Hey again! Sounds like your Navara has been a faithful companion over the years! 147,845 KM is quite a bit, but these beasts are known to keep purring long after that. Regular oil changes and brake pad replacements are all good preventative measures, but yeah, the ABS system is certainly not one to ignore. It’s precisely made to increase your safety on the road after all! Sorry for the bad news about the cost though, wish it could be cheaper. But you're absolutely right. Safety does come first and the peace of mind knowing the ABS/DSC system is working perfectly is priceless really. Better to get it sorted than to risk any more serious issue down the road. On a lighter note, who knows, your mechanic might have good news for you. Could just be a loose wire or some simple fix, we can always hope for the best, right? Anyway, best of luck with the repair. And feel free to share how it goes, could be valuable experience for some of us Nissan veterans on this forum! Hang in there and take care of your Navara!

Hey! Much obliged for the words of encouragement! I'm hoping for the best too. Booked an appointment with my mechanic for next week, fingers crossed it's just a minor issue. Will definitely keep you all posted about the progress. Might just serve as a learning experience for all of us here! Thanks again and will make sure the old Navara gets the TLC it needs! Cheers!
