Navigation problems and screen failure with Mercedes EQC 2018 - experiences and suggested solutions wanted

Navigationssystem is not working

Hey guys, my 2018 Mercedes EQC with gasoline engine is doing strange things. The navigation system in particular is totally bonkers, could it be a screen failure? Have any of you had similar experiences and can give me some troubleshooting tips? Above all, I would be interested to know how the garage solved the whole thing and what experiences you have had with it. Thank you in advance!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC. I've tinkered with cars a few times, but I wouldn't call myself an expert. In my case, it was the cable connection between the control unit and the display that was faulty and causing a poor connection. They replaced it at my garage and since then everything has been working as it should. The repair cost me 165 euros. Can you please describe in more detail exactly what your sat nav is doing? Maybe then we can narrow down the cause better. Best regards!

Moin, great info, thank you already! In my car the picture flickers and sometimes freezes, quite annoying. Must actually be a cable problem. Otherwise it runs perfectly, I had it checked recently at 934 km. I'll take it to the garage and hope it doesn't cost me any more. Greetings back!

Hi, yes, it does sound as if there is a problem with the connection or possibly even with the screen itself. See if you can do a reset. To do this, hold down the button to switch off the infotainment system until the screen goes black. Then wait a few seconds and turn it back on. If this does not work, cleaning the contacts may help. But please be careful not to break anything. All in all, I would advise you to go to the workshop as soon as possible, especially if you are still within the warranty period. In my case, the replacement didn't take longer than a day and, as I said, the costs were reasonable at 165 euros. Hopefully this has helped you a little! Feel free to ask any further questions if anything is still unclear. Best wishes and good luck!

Hi, thanks for the tip about the reset, I'll definitely give that a try. I hadn't even considered the idea of cleaning the contacts, but I'll be careful. A trip to the workshop still seems to be unavoidable. Hopefully I can get away with 165 euros. In any case, your tips have helped me and I feel a bit better prepared now. I'll let you know again when I have any news. Thank you and best regards!
