Navigation and audio system problems with the Toyota Camry 2016: experiences and solutions?

Navigationssystem is not working

Hey guys, has anyone ever had problems with the navigation system in a 2016 Toyota Camry with a gasoline engine? It doesn't work at all anymore and I have the feeling that the audio system doesn't work properly either. Have any of you ever had similar problems and how did you get them solved in the workshop? I look forward to hearing your experiences.

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2018 Toyota Corolla. I'm not a car expert, but I do have some experience with car problems. In my case, the cable connection between the control unit and the display was defective. This caused the sat nav and audio system to malfunction from time to time. I went to a garage where the cables were clamped and reconnected correctly. That cost me 165 euros. I hope that helps you. Can you give me more information about your car? Which model do you have exactly? Then I might be able to share more details with you. LG!

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! My Toyota is a 2016 Camry with a gasoline engine. My mileage is at 202028 KM. The last inspection was a few months ago. Would you recommend visiting a garage again? Or do you think it could be something serious? LG!

Hi again, I see you've done a lot of driving on your vehicle. It is quite possible that some parts need to be replaced due to the age and mileage of the car. If I were you, I would definitely visit a garage and have the electronics checked. In my experience, it could be a software problem that could be fixed with a simple update. But it could just as easily be a hardware problem, such as a faulty cable or a damaged tilt sensor, which could cause the navigation device and audio system to stop working correctly. It's hard to tell if it's something serious or not without having a mechanic take a look. However, I would strongly advise you to get it checked out to make sure there is no further damage. Hopefully it's nothing serious. Good luck and keep us up to date! Best regards!

Hi again, Yes, you could be right, a garage should have a look at it. I think I will try to make an appointment this week. I'm hoping it's something that can be fixed quickly and cheaply. I'll keep you posted when I know more. Thanks again for your help and advice! See you then!
