Multiple Issues Plague Proudia Hybrid, Help Needed

Loss of engine power

Hey all, need help with my 2014 Mitsubishi Proudia Hybrid. The car's showing multiple issues, engine light is on, power drops unsual, engine runs rough with jerking during acceleration, and it keeps stalling/shaking at idle. I suspect it might be the tank ventilation system, but I'm not 100% sure. Has anyone dealt with similar symptoms in their Proudia? Would really appreciate hearing about your repair experiences and what the actual problem turned out to be. Looking for workshop recommendations too if possible.

Hey there! I have some experience with hybrid cars and had a similar issue with my 2012 Mitsubishi i-MiEV (also considered the Outlander). Had almost identical symptoms, the unusual power drops and rough engine were super annoying! Took it to my regular workshop, Mike's Auto, and they found the issue was related to faulty vacuum hoses. They replaced them and added some new ones, cost me around 175€. Car's been running smoothly since then. Before jumping to conclusions though, could you share: How many miles/km on your Proudia? When did these symptoms first appear? Any recent maintenance work done? This info would help me give you more specific advice based on my experience.

Thanks for sharing your experience! My Proudia currently has 73666 KM on it, and I just had it serviced last week before these issues started showing up. That's interesting about the vacuum hoses, my symptoms do sound pretty similar to what you described. Did you notice any specific warning lights or error codes when you had those issues? Also, how long did the repair take at Mike's Auto? Might check them out if they're familiar with hybrid systems.

Hey again! Yeah, when I had those issues with my i-MiEV, I definitely remember seeing the check engine light, and when they scanned it, there were a couple of error codes related to the vacuum system, P0171 and P0455 if I remember correctly. The repair at Mike's took about 3-4 hours total, but they had to order one specific hose which took a couple of days to arrive. Since your Proudia just had service work done before these issues started, that's actually really interesting, sometimes these problems can pop up right after maintenance if something wasn't reconnected properly. When I had my issue, I actually found out that during my previous service, one of the vacuum hoses wasn't properly reseated. Mike's Auto is great with hybrids, they've been working on them for years. They're pretty thorough too, when they fixed mine, they did a complete vacuum system check and even found a tiny crack in another hose that could've caused problems later. One thing I learned from my experience, while it could be the tank ventilation system, it's worth having them check the entire vacuum system since all these symptoms can be related. Better to get it all checked out at once, you know? Let me know if you end up taking it there, would be curious to hear what they find!

Thanks so much for all that detailed info! Those error codes definitely give me something specific to mention when I take it in. Actually pretty relieved to hear it might just be vacuum hoses, I was worried it'd be something way more expensive with the hybrid system. I'll definitely check out Mike's Auto, especially since they seem to know their stuff with hybrids. Really appreciate your help and I'll let you know what they find when I get it checked out! Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience, it's been super helpful.
