Thanks for sharing that similar experience with the BCM connector. I just went through nearly identical dashboard warning issues with my 2009 Impala, multiple malfunctions including the humidity sensor and climate control acting up. Had the same diagnosis with corroded connectors messing up the whole system. Was wondering whether your repair has held up since then and if you recall the final cost? Mine's scheduled for next week and I'm trying to budget accordingly. Also curious if you had any other electrical quirks pop up after getting it fixed.
Got great news to share about my BCM connector repair! Since my last post and seeing the mechanic, the fog sensor and all those connected systems are working perfectly now. The repair turned out to be simpler than initially expected, just needed to fix a faulty cable connection to the component. Total cost came in at 95€, which was a relief since I was worried it might be something more serious. The climate control system's back to normal, no more unusual electrical issues with the washer nozzles or mirror heaters. The automotive sensor calibration they did after the repair really made a difference, everything's responding exactly as it should now. Haven't seen any new electrical issues pop up since the fix, and windshield fogging is properly managed by the system again. Looking back, it's amazing how one bad connection can cause so many seemingly unrelated problems. If you're heading in for a similar repair, your quote might vary, but at least you know it's likely a straightforward fix rather than a major system replacement.
Finally got the repair done yesterday! The mechanic found exactly what we discussed, corroded BCM connector pins causing all those sensor malfunctions. Repair took about three hours total with the wiring harness work and sensor calibration afterwards. Ended up paying €280 for parts and labor, which wasn't as bad as I'd feared. Already noticed a huge difference on my drive home. The climate control's working perfectly, no more dashboard warning lights, and the washer nozzles are spraying like they should. Even the mirror heaters kicked in this morning without any issues. Such a relief to have everything working properly again. Only wish I'd known about this sooner instead of trying unusual fixes. Those multiple system issues definitely had me worried about a bigger problem, but it turned out to be just that one faulty connection affecting everything. Really glad I got it sorted before winter hits.
Had the exact same symptoms in my 2011 Chevy Malibu last winter. Multiple system failures pointed to the Body Control Module (BCM) connector, turned out the main wiring harness had corroded pins causing sensor malfunctions across several systems. When the BCM can't properly communicate with the climate sensors, it triggers cascading issues affecting windshield fogging control, AC, and other comfort features. The automotive sensor cluster was fine, but the connection was the culprit. The fix required cleaning the connector pins and replacing the damaged portion of the harness. This wasn't a quick-fix job since accessing the BCM meant removing several interior panels. While not the most expensive repair, it's definitely something that needs proper diagnosis and repair to prevent further electrical issues. What initially seemed like individual problems with washer nozzles and mirror heaters was actually one interconnected issue with the control module communication. Sensor calibration was needed after the repair to get everything working properly again.
