Hey Mike, Thanks for sharing that! Really helpful tip about the boot, I just checked it and unfortunately that's not the issue in my case. The brake pedal feels normal when pressed, no weird sounds or anything. The last service was just 2 months ago at 57859 KM, so I'm a bit surprised by these warning lights popping up now. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery to see if it might reset the system, but no luck there. Gonna try checking the fuses next before heading to the workshop. Did your Corsa-e have any other electrical gremlins worth knowing about? Cheers!
Hey again! Yeah, I can imagine how frustrating this is, especially so soon after a service! Actually, while my boot issue was a quick fix, I did have another similar situation about 6 months later with my Corsa-e. The same symptoms showed up, and it turned out to be a corroded connector under the brake pedal, right where the brake light switch connects. The moisture from my wet shoes during rainy season had slowly caused some corrosion. Good thinking on checking the fuses! Definitely worth a look. If you're checking them, pay special attention to fuse #23 (if I remember correctly), it's specifically for the brake lights circuit. In my case, the fuses were all fine though. Since you mentioned trying the battery disconnect already, and the pedal feels normal, I'm leaning more towards it being either a wiring issue or that brake light switch we initially suspected. When I had the corroded connector issue, my workshop charged me about £95 for the fix, including cleaning the connections and replacing the switch just to be safe. Keep us posted on what you find with the fuses! Cheers, Mike
Thanks so much for all the detailed info! That's really interesting about the corroded connector, actually makes a lot of sense since we've had such a wet winter here. I just checked all the fuses, including #23, and they're all looking good. Think I'll book it into the workshop tomorrow and mention the connector issue you had with your Corsa-e. £95 doesn't sound too bad for peace of mind, especially with these safety-related things. Plus, better to get it sorted before it potentially gets worse. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experiences, it's super helpful having some insight before heading to the garage. I'll update the thread once I know what the actual problem was, might help someone else down the line! Cheers!
Hey there! I have some experience with EVs and had a similar issue with my 2023 Vauxhall Corsa-e (same family as your Mokka). The ABS light came on with a brake light failure too. Turns out, I hadn't closed the boot properly, there was a small gap! After properly shutting it, both warning lights went away. No workshop needed, thankfully! Before you spend money at a workshop, could you check if your boot/trunk is completely closed? Also, what exactly happens when you press the brake pedal, any unusual feelings or sounds? Let me know the details, and I'll try to help further!
