Mitsubishi ASX Nav & Audio Dead: Fix Options Needed

Navigationssystem is not working

Audio system is not working

Hey there, having trouble with my 2017 Mitsubishi ASX (135k km) and need some advice. Both my navigation and audio system stopped working completely. I think it might be the antenna, but after a bad experience with my previous mechanic, I'd like to hear from others who've had similar issues. Has anyone dealt with this before? What was the actual problem and where did you get it fixed? Thanks in advance!

Hey! I had a similar issue with my 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander last summer. The symptoms were exactly the same, complete loss of both nav and audio. Initially thought it was just a fuse, but turned out the antenna module was defective. Took it to the official Mitsubishi dealer in town since my regular mechanic couldn't diagnose it properly. They ran a full diagnostic and found that water had gotten into the antenna housing, causing corrosion in the connection points. They had to replace the entire antenna assembly plus some wiring. Not a super serious issue but definitely needed professional attention. The whole repair took about half a day. Been working perfectly since then. Would recommend getting it checked at a dealer given the electrical nature of the problem. Hope this helps with your situation.

Thanks! That's really helpful info, sounds exactly like what I'm dealing with. Would you mind sharing how much you ended up paying for the whole thing? Also curious if you've had any other electrical problems since getting it fixed? My wife's been nagging me to just take it to the dealer straight away, but you know how dealer prices can be

Hey again! Happy to report back! Yeah, the total bill came to 255€ at the dealer, which honestly wasn't as bad as I expected. Since getting the antenna fixed last summer, everything's been running smooth as butter, no more radio or nav issues at all. It's like having a new car system! I totally get being hesitant about dealer prices (my wallet usually cringes too! ), but in this case, it was worth every penny. The generic mechanic I tried first just couldn't pinpoint the problem, so I probably saved money in the long run by going straight to the experts. Listen to your wife on this one (don't tell mine I said that!). When it comes to electrical stuff like this, the dealer's diagnostic equipment and expertise really make a difference. Better to get it sorted properly the first time around. Let me know how it goes if you decide to get it checked out!

Thanks so much for all the details! Just got back from the dealer actually. You were spot on, it was the antenna module, plus some water damage. Ended up costing me 280€ total. Bit more than yours but still reasonable considering they also updated some software while they were at it. Funny thing is, my regular mechanic quoted me 200€ without even properly checking it, so I'm glad I listened to both you and my wife (don't worry, I won't tell her either!). The whole thing took about 4 hours, but now everything's working perfectly, radio, nav, the whole lot. Really appreciate you sharing your experience. Saved me from running around different mechanics and probably spending more in the long run. Props to you!
