Thanks for sharing your experience! My 380 is still fairly well maintained with 97228 KM on the clock, and I just had it serviced last month. I've actually checked the sensors, and they look fine on the outside, no visible damage or anything. Mine's the VRX trim level. Since we've got similar issues, did your mechanic mention anything specific about the electrical system or if it could be something more serious than just the sensors? Really hoping it won't cost me an arm and a leg to fix!
Hey again! Thanks for the follow-up about your 380 VRX. That's actually a really good mileage for these cars, mine was around 115,000 KM when I had the sensor issues. Now that you mention the recent service and the sensors looking fine externally, I should share something my mechanic told me that might be relevant. In my case, even though the sensor itself was faulty, he mentioned that these issues can sometimes be related to the wiring harness or the control module too. Actually, after they initially replaced my sensor, they found that there was some corrosion in the wiring connector behind the bumper that was causing intermittent problems with the whole system. It might be worth having them check the wiring connections first before replacing any sensors. In my case, once they cleaned up the corroded connector and applied some dielectric grease, most of the electrical warnings cleared up. The faulty sensor was just the cherry on top, so to speak. Tell you what, if your mechanic hasn't looked at the wiring yet, maybe have them check that first? Could save you some money if it turns out to be just a connection issue like mine was. Let me know what they find!
Thanks so much for that detailed explanation! I really appreciate you mentioning the wiring harness issue, that's something I hadn't considered at all. I've just called my mechanic and scheduled an appointment for tomorrow morning. I'll definitely have them check the wiring connections and connectors first before jumping straight to sensor replacement. It makes total sense that corrosion could be causing these issues, especially since my car's been parked outside quite a bit lately. You've probably saved me some serious cash with that advice about checking the wiring first! I'll update the thread once I get it looked at, just in case anyone else runs into similar problems with their 380. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience, it's been super helpful!
Hi there! I had a similar issue with my 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer (I have some experience working on cars, but mainly basic maintenance stuff). The parking sensors completely died on me last year, and I was getting weird electrical warnings too. Took it to my regular workshop, and it turned out to be a faulty parking sensor that was causing all the trouble. The mechanic had to replace the defective sensor and recalibrate the system. Total bill came to around 265€, but it fixed all the warning lights and everything's been working perfectly since then. Before I can share more specific details, what trim level is your 380? And have you checked if there's any visible damage to any of the sensors? Sometimes physical damage or water ingress can cause these issues. Hope this helps! Let me know if you need more info.
