Mini Roadster TPMS Issue

I am experiencing an issue with the tire pressure monitoring system on my 2015 Mini Roadster. The tire pressure seems too low, triggering an error message in the speedometer. Additionally, an error is stored in the error memory. I suspect that the tire pressure sensor battery may be empty. Any insights on this?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Opel, same sort of symptoms, low tire warning and all. Have you checked the air valve itself? Sometimes, crud can build up in there, causing a slow leak and triggering the sensor fault. Is the air pressure actually low, or is it a false reading?

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the air valve specifically, but I ensured that the tire pressure is correct. The low tire warning persists, and the error is still stored. Could it really be the sensor itself, or is there anything else I should consider?

Okay, since the air pressure is correct and the warning remains, it is likely the sensor itself. In my case with the Opel, it was definitely the sensor battery. Unfortunately, these sensors usually aren't designed to have their batteries replaced, so the whole sensor needs replacing, which means a trip to the shop. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but at least you know what it probably is.

I appreciate you sharing your experience. Following your advice, I brought my Mini Roadster to the workshop. The diagnosis confirmed the tire pressure sensor fault. The repair, including replacing the sensor, cost 280€. Everything is working correctly now.
