Mini Roadster Keyless Entry and Starting Issues

Alright, I'm officially stumped! My 2015 Mini Roadster diesel is throwing a weird error. The error memory has a fault stored, the keyless entry is completely dead, and I can't even start the engine without physically putting the key in the ignition. The repair blokes are pointing to a defective cable or plug connection on the bumper antenna. Anyone else run into this kind of craziness with their antenna?

Sounds like you're experiencing similar issues to what I had with my Mini, although mine's not the Roadster. I was getting intermittent errors, and the keyless entry was acting up. It turned out to be a faulty car antenna connection in the bumper. Have you checked the cable and plug to the vehicle antenna itself? That's where the tech started looking on mine.

Interesting! So, was it just a loose connection on your fm antenna, or did they actually have to replace the whole automotive antenna unit? And where exactly is the bumper antenna located? I had a quick look, but couldn't immediately spot it.

Yep, sounds identical. They initially thought it might be the entire antenna, but luckily it was just a corroded connector on the antenna repair cable. The bumper antenna on mine was tucked away behind the rear bumper, drivers side. Honestly, unless you're comfortable fiddling with trim and wiring, I'd suggest letting a workshop tackle it. Much less hassle!

Just wanted to give an update. Took the Mini to the workshop, and you were spot on! The bumper antenna cable was indeed defective. They performed an antenna repair, charged me 95€, and everything's working perfectly again. Thanks a million for your help!
