Mini Roadster Blower Motor Issue

I'm experiencing a frustrating issue with my 2013 Mini Roadster. The fresh air blower is not working at all. I've scanned the car, and there's an error stored in the error memory related to the blower motor. Based on my research, the most likely cause seems to be a defective blower motor. Has anyone else encountered this, and if so, what was your experience? I'm trying to gauge if a 365€ repair cost is reasonable before proceeding.

Ugh, blower motor issues are the worst! I had a similar problem with my Mini Cooper. The heater fan would just out of nowhere stop working. Have you checked the electrical wiring and the HVAC system fuse? It might be something simple before you assume it's the blower motor itself.

Thanks for the quick reply! That's interesting about your Mini Cooper. When you say 'similar problem', was the blower motor completely dead, or was it intermittent? And did you also have an error stored in the error memory? I've checked the fuses, and they seem fine. I'm hesitant to start poking around the electrical wiring without a proper wiring diagram.

Yeah, completely dead. No air at all. I also had an error code. Honestly, I'm not super technical, and messing with electrical wiring is a recipe for disaster in my book. I ended up taking it to a workshop, and they replaced the blower motor. Problem solved! If you've already checked the fuses, I'd say bite the bullet and get it professionally diagnosed.

Just wanted to provide an update. Following your advice, I decided to take the Roadster to a trusted mechanic. They confirmed the blower motor was indeed defective, just as the error code indicated. The repair, including parts and labor, came out to 365€. Everything is working perfectly now, the air conditioning and heater fan are blowing strong. Thanks for your input!
