Mini Paceman Parking Aid Issue

I am experiencing an issue with the parking aid on my 2016 Mini Paceman, a diesel model. The parking assistant is non-functional, and the error memory indicates a fault. The workshop suggests a defective cable or plug connection to the component is the likely cause. They quoted a repair cost of around 95€. Before I commit, has anyone experienced similar issues with the parking sensors, obstacle detection, ultrasonic sensors or proximity sensors?

Whoa, that's annoying! I had a similar problem with my Paceman. The parking sensors went completely bonkers. Have you checked the connections to the control module? That's where I'd start looking.

Thanks for the quick reply! Where exactly is the control module located? And how difficult is it to check the connections? I am not that experienced.

Okay, so the control module is usually near the rear bumper, sometimes behind the trim in the trunk. Honestly, if you're not super confident, I wouldn't mess with it too much. You could accidentally make things worse! For 95€, it might be worth just letting the workshop handle it. They probably have the right diagnostic tools to pinpoint the exact faulty connection.

Just wanted to update the thread. I took the Paceman to the workshop as you suggested. They confirmed a faulty connection in one of the parking sensors. The repair cost exactly 95€ as initially estimated. Thanks for the help!
