Mini Paceman Overheating Issue

Alright, my 2016 Mini Paceman is throwing up some concerning symptoms. Check engine light's on, and I'm seeing signs of car overheating. Suspect an active air flap fault possibly a defective electromechanism. Anyone seen this before?

Sounds like your thermal management system might be compromised. I had a similar issue on my Paceman. Check engine light, plus the cooling system seemed to be struggling. Have you run a diagnostic scan?

Yeah, suspected as much. What was the eventual culprit in your case? Was it definitely the active air flap?

Affirmative, turned out the active air flap was the culprit. The diagnostic scan confirmed it. If you're seeing overheating I'd recommend you get it to the workshop ASAP.

Thanks for the confirmation. Did a diagnostic scan and it threw up an active air flap fault. As suspected, the electromechanism was borked. Bit the bullet and got it sorted for 590€. No more car overheating issues.
