Mini Paceman Hands Free Microphone Problem

Yeah, the wireless connection module in the Astra controlled the Bluetooth. But if your Bluetooth connection is stable, and the voice recognition is completely gone, it points to something more internal to the infotainment unit itself. In my case, it required a full replacement of the unit. Honestly, given the symptoms and the error memory, I'd say a trip to the workshop is your best bet. They can properly diagnose the problem and give you a definitive answer.

Interesting. I did check the fuses, and they seem fine. The voice recognition is completely dead, along with the telephony. No response whatsoever. You mentioned a wireless connection module in your Astra. Was that related to Bluetooth? Because my Paceman's Bluetooth connection seems stable; it's just the microphone that's not working.

Thanks for the input. Took the Paceman to the workshop, and as suspected, the infotainment system was indeed faulty. Microphone repair wasn't possible, so the unit was replaced. Cost me 815€, but at least telephony and speech recognition are working again.

Sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my older Vauxhall Astra, although it wasn't diesel. The hands-free system just died. Could still make calls, but nobody could hear me. Error memory was full of weird stuff related to the wireless connection module. Did you try checking the fuse for the infotainment system? Also, is your voice recognition working at all? Sometimes ambient noise can mess with it, but a total failure is usually more serious.
