Mini Paceman Fault Memory Lock Active Error

My 2014 Mini Paceman is throwing a fault memory lock active error. Seems like it's likely undervoltage, but I'm not sure where to start with automotive diagnostics. Seen this before?

I had a similar problem with my Mini Cooper a while back. I kept getting odd fault codes popping up, and the control unit seemed to be acting strange. Did you check your battery? Sometimes a weak battery can cause undervoltage issues, which can trigger the memory lock. What fault codes are you seeing?

Battery seems okay, but I haven't load tested it. What exactly was happening with your control unit when you had that memory lock issue?

Yeah, mine was throwing all sorts of weird codes, almost like the ECU was glitching. It turned out to be a failing battery causing voltage drops. Honestly, unless you have the proper ECU diagnostics tools, chasing down undervoltage issues can be a real pain. You might be better off taking it to a workshop to have them check it out properly.

Just wanted to follow up. Took the Paceman to the shop, ECU diagnostics confirmed undervoltage. They cleared the fault memory and charged the battery. Cost me 240€. Thanks for the heads up!
