Mini Paceman Engine Control Unit Error

My 2015 Mini Paceman is throwing me some serious shade. Engine power is way down and the car diagnostics are showing an error with the engine control unit, like the computer module's gone bonkers. My mechanic's saying it could be a defective main relay. Anyone else run into this vehicle electronics nightmare?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Cooper. It felt like the car was being choked. Have you checked the relays? That was my problem.

Yeah, it's like a fuse box but for bigger stuff. In my Cooper, they were under the hood near the ECU. Swapping it out fixed it for me, but honestly, I'd just take it to a workshop that knows vehicle electronics and can do an ECU repair or system reset if needed.

Update on my Paceman's woes you were spot on! The main relay was indeed the culprit. Total cost was about 120€. Thanks a bunch for pointing me in the right direction!
