Thanks a bunch for the quick reply! When you say 'similar issue,' do you mean the check engine light also came on, and a defective plug connection to a sensor was the root cause of your problem? I'll check the hoses and reservoir like you suggested, but I'm curious if our experiences align more closely than just the low coolant warning.

Yes exactly! The check engine light was on in my Mini Cooper, and after a lot of headaches, it turned out to be a faulty sensor connection related to the cooling system. I'm not a mechanic myself, so I'd strongly recommend taking your Paceman to a workshop. They should be able to pinpoint the exact location of the defective connection and get it sorted quickly.

Just wanted to let you know I took your advice and brought my Paceman to a mechanic. Turns out, you were spot on! They found a defective plug connection to a sensor. Repair including parts and labor came out to 95€. Thanks so much for your help!

Hey there! I had a similar issue with my Mini Cooper not too long ago, kept getting that low coolant warning. First thing I'd check is all your radiator hoses for any signs of a coolant leak. Give them a good squeeze and see if you can spot any cracks or wetness. Also, have you checked your radiator fluid reservoir itself for cracks? It might be worth taking a look at your cooling fan too, to make sure it's kicking in when it should.
