Mini Paceman Automatic Transmission Issues

Interesting! I didn't really notice anything with the gear linkage specifically, but the shifting was definitely off. When you say 'transmission failure thing,' do you mean you had to replace the whole transmission, or was it something else? Any idea what it cost you to fix?

Yeah, by "transmission failure thing" I meant the whole shebang went kaput. Luckily, it wasn't a complete transmission replacement, but they did replace the control unit and some other bits. I'd definitely get it checked out by a workshop. From what you're describing, it sounds like a similar problem.

Thanks a bunch for sharing your experience! It sounds like I'm heading down the same road. I ended up taking it to a local mechanic who specializes in transmissions, and after a diagnostic check, they confirmed the control unit was indeed faulty. Cost me a pretty penny, around 1000€, but at least my Paceman is back on the road and shifting smoothly again. I appreciate you sharing!

Whoa, sounds rough! I had a similar issue with my Mini Paceman a while back. Check engine light, weird shifting... It was a nightmare! Did you happen to notice if the gear linkage felt loose at all? Mine was acting up before the whole transmission failure thing happened. Could be a faulty transmission sensor maybe?
