Mini One central locking malfunction

I am writing to inquire about a problem I am experiencing with my 2006 Mini One. The driver's side door can no longer be locked or unlocked using the central locking system. Could this be due to a defective door sensor? Is it possible that there is a problem with the contact signal?

That is odd. I recall reading about a similar problem in another thread. Does the car alarm still activate when you manually lock the door from the inside? It could be a faulty door switch or a break in the wiring harness. I had something similar occur. Does the interior light come on when you open the affected door?

Thank you for the quick response. Regarding your questions: yes, the car alarm does activate when I lock the car manually. And no, the interior light does not come on when I open the driver's side door. Could you provide some more information about your similar issue? What exactly was the problem and how was it resolved?

Yes, the symptoms do appear the same as mine. The car alarm was still working, but the door lock wasn't functioning properly. In my case, the issue was indeed a broken wiring harness within the door. I recommend taking it to a workshop for diagnosis and repair. It is likely a defective cable or plug connection of the component. Do you have the knowledge to diagnose this yourself?

The door sensor issue is resolved. It was a defective contact signal because of a faulty wiring harness in the door. The workshop replaced it, and the central locking system is working again. Total cost was 95€ Thank you for your help
