Mini One central locking malfunction

I'm encountering a rather perplexing issue with my 2015 Mini One Diesel. The central locking system has ceased to function entirely. Doors can no longer be locked or unlocked via the key fob or the interior switch. Furthermore, an error is stored in the error memory. Considering the symptoms, and based on initial diagnostics, the likely cause is a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone encountered a similar problem, and if so, what steps did you take to resolve it?

Central locking issues are a pain. I drive a Mini One, and I recall having similar symptoms. Have you checked the fuse box? It could be something simple. Also, does your car alarm still work? Does the key fob still work for other functions?

Interesting. When you experienced this, were there any error codes stored? And was it a complete failure of the central locking system, or was it intermittent?

Yes, there were error codes stored. The central locking was completely unresponsive. I fiddled with fuses and checked a few connections, but ultimately had to take it to a workshop. They sorted it out quickly enough.

Appreciate the input. It turned out that the diagnostic pointed to a defective cable or plug connection, which aligns with your suspicion. The repair, including error memory deletion, totaled 95€. Thanks again for sharing your experience.
