Mini Countryman Oxygen Sensor Error

My 2015 Mini Countryman diesel is throwing an error related to the oxygen sensor. Check engine light is on and fuel consumption has definitely increased. Suspect a cable or plug connection issue with the exhaust sensor. Anyone else experience something similar?

Oxygen sensor issues are never fun. Higher fuel consumption definitely points to that. Is the car running rough at all? I had a similar thing happen with my Countryman a while back. Check engine light, the whole shebang. Did you try clearing the error code to see if it comes back?

Interesting. No, the car isn't running rough, just the increased fuel consumption and the persistent check engine light. When you had the issue, was it the same symptoms? And more importantly, what was the fix?

Yep, pretty much identical symptoms. Check engine light, higher fuel consumption, no noticeable rough running. I fiddled with it for a bit, but honestly, I'd just take it to a workshop. They diagnosed it quickly and replaced the faulty oxygen sensor. Saved me a lot of headache trying to figure out the exact air-fuel ratio issue myself.

It was indeed the front exhaust sensor. Cable and plug connection were defective, as suspected. 95€ later and she's running smoothly again. Thanks for the heads up!
