Mini Countryman Hybrid Overheating

I am experiencing a peculiar issue with my 2022 Mini Countryman Hybrid. The engine seems to be overheating, and it is taking a considerable amount of time to reach its normal operating temperature. Based on my experience, a defective map thermostat is the most probable cause. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem with the coolant system?

I experienced a similar issue with my Countryman. The engine took longer to warm up, and I noticed the cooling fan running excessively. Have you checked the coolant level? Is there any sign of leakage?

Yes, engine overheating was also a symptom I observed. It does sound like a defective thermostat, specifically impacting the temperature control. I suggest having a workshop confirm the diagnosis. It is likely the map thermostat that is at fault, and they can replace it.

The coolant level appears normal, and I haven't observed any leaks. When you encountered this issue, did you also experience engine overheating? I am curious if my symptoms align with what you experienced.

Thank you for confirming my suspicions. I have taken the Mini Countryman to a trusted workshop. As you suggested, the thermostat was indeed the culprit. Repair cost came to 350€. The coolant system is now functioning as expected.
