Mini Countryman engine misfires

My 2020 Mini Countryman is acting up. Experiencing rough engine running, the check engine light is on, and there's jerking during acceleration along with reduced engine power. Seems like combustion misfires are being detected. Could a defective injection valve or injector be the culprit? Throttle response is terrible and the rough idle is killing me.

Misfires can be tricky. Have you checked the spark plugs? Also, what's the fuel pressure like? A failing fuel pump could also cause similar symptoms.

Spark plugs were replaced recently. I don't have the tools to check fuel pressure myself. Is there a way to confirm if the fuel pump is the issue without specialized equipment?

If the spark plugs are new, and you can't check fuel pressure, it's hard to diagnose further without proper tools. Given the symptoms, especially the check engine light and rough idle, a defective injector is a very strong possibility. Best bet is to get it to a workshop for proper diagnostics.

Thanks for the insight. Took it to the shop, and they confirmed it was indeed a defective injector. Replaced it, and the misfires are gone. Total damage was 515€.
