Mini Countryman diesel issue

Alright so my 2010 Mini Countryman diesel is acting up Got an error stored and feels like it's lost some power Engine response is sluggish and the fuel consumption is higher than usual Plus the idling is a bit uneven I'm guessing it has something to do with the fuel filter heater since the error points to that Possibly a bad connection Has anyone else had this issue before

Sounds kinda familiar I had something similar with my Countryman a while back Reduced power and the engine felt rough It might be worth checking the fuel filter and the fuel lines especially if you're having cold start issues or suspect the fuel filter heater thingy I'm not saying that's definitely it but it’s a place to start

When you say similar issue what exactly did you end up doing Did you change the filter yourself or did you have someone look at it Is it a tough job

Yeah the symptoms sound pretty much the same for me I didn't touch it myself to be honest I'm not that confident with fuel systems and all the pressure in the fuel line I'd suggest getting it checked out professionally to be on the safe side It could be something else entirely I was lucky that it was only a defective cable and I just needed a filter replacement

Thanks a lot for your input I really appreciate it I took it to a mechanic and you were spot on Apparently the fuel filter heater cable was faulty Cost me 95€ including the filter replacement Runs like new again Fuel efficiency seems better too
