Mini Countryman Diesel Ignition Switch Problem

Sounds like a starting issue I had with my Countryman. It was intermittent at first, then became more frequent. I would check the car electronics first. Did you notice any dashboard light acting strangely before the engine start problem?

Specifically, my dashboard light flickered a bit before the engine refused to start. I think a faulty fuse can cause similar problems. It is difficult to say exactly what is going on. I would suggest taking it to a workshop to check the car electronics.

Just wanted to update you. It was, in fact, a defective fuse related to the ignition system. Cost me 52€ to get it sorted. Thanks for the advice, it definitely pointed me in the right direction.
