Mini Cooper transmission errors

My 2015 Mini Cooper is throwing some weird errors. Check engine light and transmission indicator are both on. Mileage is just under 39000 km. I'm experiencing gearbox slips and unclean shifts, along with grinding noises when shifting. Error memory points to a defective automatic transmission torque converter lock-up clutch. Anyone seen this before?

Strange. Sounds a bit like what happened with my automatic gearbox. Had a similar engine surge issue and the gearbox slipped a lot. Plus, the check engine light was on and off. Did you check the error codes? Could be a clutch problem.

Yeah, turned out to be the torque converter. The lock-up clutch had gone bad. That was causing the engine surge and the transmission issues. The workshop confirmed the issue and replaced the converter. I would recommend going to the workshop.

Took the Mini to the workshop. Diagnosis confirmed: automatic transmission converter defective. Ouch. Total transmission repair cost: 2120€. Thanks for the input.
