Mini Cooper Hands Free Microphone Issues

Anyone else had issues with their hands-free microphone in a 2013 Mini Cooper Diesel? Mine seems completely dead. Telephony is impossible, and it's throwing an error. I'm fearing the infotainment system is defective as everything points to that. I guess the microphone repair is going to be expensive, and I am afraid the sound quality will never be the same!

I had a similar problem with my Mini Cooper. Telephony was not possible. Have you checked the volume control while in a call? Maybe it's muted somehow.

Thanks, I've checked the volume but no luck. The voice recognition is completely dead too. Was it the same for you?

Yes, exactly the same. Voice recognition gone, no telephony possible. I would suggest taking it to a workshop. It sounds like the same issue I had.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. It seems like it is the infotainment system as feared. I'll bite the bullet and get it sorted at the workshop. Cost me 815€ but at least I can make calls again! Ambient noise was driving me nuts!
