Mini Cooper Electric parking assist fault

Alright, so the parking assist on my 2020 Mini Cooper Electric is throwing a fault. Basically, it's not working at all, and the error memory says it's a problem with the parking aid. The shop thinks it's a defective cable or plug connection. Anyone else run into this?

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my Mini's parking assist acting up a while back. The rearview camera was all glitchy, and the parking assist was totally useless. Have you checked the blind spot sensors? Sometimes those can throw things off too. Does your model have the proximity sensors?

Yeah, I have all those sensors. What exactly was the issue in your case? Was it also a cable?

Mine was similar. I remember the frustration! Symptoms were identical. After a bit of troubleshooting, they found it was a corroded connector on one of the radar sensors. I ended up taking it to a workshop to get it fixed, as I was worried about messing with the electronics myself. Probably the best thing to do to be honest.

Thanks for the confirmation. Took it to the shop and it was indeed a defective cable/plug connection to one of the radar sensors for the parking assist. 95€ later and it's all sorted.
