Mini Cooper Diesel Overheating Problem

Experiencing some vehicle overheating with my 2009 Mini Cooper Diesel. I suspect the electric fan is impaired. From what I've read, it could be a defective cable or plug connection. Any thoughts before I start tearing things apart? Seems like a temperature control issue, and I'm hoping it's not too involved.

Sounds familiar. My Mini Cooper had similar overheating issues. Have you checked the radiator fan? The electric motor might be failing, or it could be something as simple as a bad connection. It's like a fuse blowing in your house – sometimes it's the appliance, sometimes it's the wiring. Is the fan running at all, or is it completely dead?

Interesting. When you say 'bad connection', can you be more specific? Did you have to replace the entire radiator fan, or was it just a matter of fixing a plug or wire?

Yes, it was a faulty plug connection on the radiator fan electric motor. The vehicle overheating was getting worse. I would suggest that you visit a workshop. They will check the cables and replace the defective part. I hope this helps.

Just wanted to follow up on the overheating issue with my Mini Cooper Diesel. Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. Turned out to be a defective cable connection on the radiator fan. Total cost was 95€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
