Mini Cooper Central Locking Problems

Thanks for the tip about the fuse box! I did check the fuses, and they all seem fine. And yeah, the key fob's still working perfectly for the alarm system. So, if it's not the fuses and the key fob seems okay, is it likely to be the receiver unit then? Where exactly is that located? Is it something I can easily access and check myself?

Sounds like you've done some solid troubleshooting already. Yeah, if the key fob works the alarm, the issue is likely not the key fob itself. Given the error code you pulled, I'd definitely suspect a bad connection somewhere in the central locking circuit. Honestly, though, if you're not comfortable poking around with electrical systems, it might be best to bite the bullet and take it to a workshop. It's probably a pain to trace the wiring, and you don't want to mess up the security system even more. Plus, 95€ isn't the end of the world, right?

Alright! Just got my Mini Cooper back. Turns out the central locking issue WAS a defective plug connection, like I suspected. The workshop bill came in at 98€, which is close enough to the predicted 95€ that I'm not complaining. Thanks a million for your help and for sharing your experience! I really appreciate it. At least now I know where to start looking if this security system acts up again!

Whoa, that sucks! I had a similar problem with the central locking on my old Peugeot a while back. The remote locking just stopped working out of the blue. Have you checked the fuse box? Sometimes a blown fuse can cause all sorts of weird electrical problems. Also, does the key fob still work for other functions, like the alarm? If it's just the central locking, it could be a problem with the receiver unit itself.
