Mini Clubman Check Engine Light and Idle Problems

I am writing to inquire about a problem I am experiencing with my 2021 Mini Clubman. It has approximately 93073 kilometers. The check engine light has illuminated, and I've noticed occasional idle problems, sometimes even engine stalling. I suspect it might be related to an air valve issue, but I'm unsure where to begin diagnosing the problem.

Greetings. I experienced a similar issue with my previous vehicle, a Volkswagen Passat. The check engine light illuminated, and I also had inconsistent idling. The engine even stalled a few times. Have you inspected the air intake system and vacuum hoses for any apparent damage or disconnections? In my case, a cracked vacuum hose was the culprit, disrupting the air-fuel mixture.

Thank you for the suggestion. Could you elaborate on which specific vacuum hoses were affected in your Passat? I want to provide the mechanic with as much information as possible.

Certainly. While the engine configurations differ, the principle remains the same. On my Passat, the cracked hose was connected to the air pump, leading to the valve. Given your mileage and symptoms, it's prudent to have a mechanic conduct a thorough inspection of all vacuum hoses and connections related to the air intake system. It is advisable to take your Mini Clubman to a qualified workshop for a comprehensive diagnosis.

Just wanted to provide an update. The issue has been resolved. It turned out to be a defective hose connection from the pump to the valve, as suspected. The total repair cost was 175€. Thank you for your insight; it helped me direct the mechanic to the probable cause.
